Unum's Total Home Care option
pays benefits regardless of who
provides the home care - a family
member, friend or relative, or a
licensed professional.
Once a policyholder is eligible for
benefits he or she receives their
total daily benefit amount even if
that amount exceeds their incurred
expenses. The insured can use this
excess money for whatever needs they
feel are most important.
As Unum pays on an indemnity / per
diem basis your insured does not
need to submit any vouchers or
receipts as proof for services
rendered.
There is no coordination of benefits
with Medicare or other insurance
plan. This means the insured gets
paid from Unum in addition to any
other long term care income they may
be receiving.
Unum has superior financial ratings:
A.M. Best A (Excellent) Standard &
Poors AA- (Very Strong) Moody's A2
(Good) Fitch AA- (Very Strong)
